Description: Ly6A/E is a member of the lymphocyte activation protein-6 (Ly6) multigene family. Ly6A/E is also known as stem cell antigen-1 (Sca-1). It is an 18kD mouse glycosyl phosphatidylinositol-anchored cell surface protein of the Ly6 gene family. It is expressed on multipotent hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow of mice with both the Ly6.1 and Ly6.2 allotypes. As such, it is the most common marker used for enriching adult hematopoietic stem cells. It has varied functions, it plays a role in bone formation, myoblast proliferation and differentiation and the activation and immunosuppressive function of T cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), Immunoprecipitation, and Westen Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:5-1:10; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
