Lymphotactin, Recombinant, Human (Small Inducible Cytokine Subfamily C Member 1, SCYC1, Chemokine C Motif Ligand 1, Ltn)
Molecular Biology Storage: -20CShipping: RT
Chemokine (C motif) ligand (XCL1) is a small cytokine belonging to the XC chemokine family that is also known as lymphotactin. It is found in high levels in spleen, thymus, intestine and peripheral blood leukocytes, and at lower levels in lung, prostate gland and ovary. Cellular sources for XCL1 include activated thymic and peripheral blood CD8+ T cells. This chemokine attracts T cells. In humans, XCL1 is closely related to another chemokine called XCL2, whose gene is found at the same locus on chromosome 1. XCL1 induces its chemotactic function by binding to a chemokine receptor called XCR1.
Recombinant human Lymphotactin is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 92 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 10007 Dalton.

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Gln-Ser-Glu-Val-Ser.

Biological Activity:
Lymphotactin is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Biological activity is calculated by its ability to chemoattract human T cells at 10.0-100.0ng/ml..

Protein Content:
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Lymphotactin as a Reference Standard.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA, aliquot and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Molecular Weight:
Source: Recombinant, human (E. coli)
Purity: 98% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified. Endotoxin: < 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug)
Concentration: ~0.1mg/ml
Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No additives. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA to a concentration of 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
