MIP-1 alpha is a 7.8 kD protein containing 69 amino acid residues. It is part of the CC chemokine family and plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes and tissue macrophages. Source: E.coli Form: Sterile filtered solution, lyophilized without additives. Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature but best stored at -20°C. Reconstituted MIP-1 alpha should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Purity: 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug (1EU/ug). Reconstitution: Reconsitution in water to a concentration of 0.1–1.0mg/ml. Biological Activity: The biological activity of murine MIP-1 alpha was determined by a chemotaxis assay using mouse Balb/c splenocytes. Significant chemotaxis was achieved at a concentration of 100ng/ml. Murine MIP-1 alpha also shows significant chemotaxis at the same concentration using mouse Balb/C peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
