Non-phosphorylated p44/42 MAP Kinase Control Protein: Bacterially expressed, kinase inactive, Erk2 protein serves as a negative control for Western blotting experiments. Molecular weight of MAP kinase (Erk2) protein is 42kD.

Phosphorylated p44/42 MAP Kinase Control Protein: Fully phosphorylated Erk2 protein serves as a positive control for Western blotting experiments. MAP kinase is phosphorylated by MEK and purified free of nonphosphorylated MAP kinase.

Western Blots: As controls, we recommend using 10ul of phosphorylated and nonphosphorylated MAP kinase control proteins. Boil control proteins for 2 minutes prior to use.

Storage Buffer: SDS Sample Buffer: 62.5 mM Tris-HCl (pH 6.8 at 25C), 2% w/v SDS, 10% glycerol, 50 mM DTT, 0.01% w/v bromophenol blue or phenol red.
