Description: Melanoma Antigen Recognized by T cells (MART-1), a widely shared melanoma epitope, is a 118aa protein with an approximate molecular weight of 18kD. MART-1 is recognized by HLA-A2-restricted autologous and allogeneic tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes from patients with established melanoma. MART-1 is expressed by a large proportion of melanomas and also in human and murine melanocyte lineage cells derived from skin, uvea, and retina. MART-1 is not expressed in other normal tissues, including T cells, B cells, kidney epithelial cells, and fibroblasts. The antigen is not detectable in non-melanoma malignancies, including neoplasms of colon, breast, brain, kidney, lung and bone. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue sections. Requires HEIR with Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Melanoma Expected Staining Pattern: Cytoplasmic Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
