Human macrophage/ monocyte chemotactic and activating factor (MCAF) also called human macrophage chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is an 8.6kD protein containing 76 amino acids residues. It plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes and tissue macrophages.

Biological Activity:
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes using a concentration range of 10-100ng/ml.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute by adding sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
