Improved selectivity for isolation of Listeria monocytogenes. Preparation of Cycloheximide Solution: Add 0.2g cycloheximide to ddH2O and bring volume to 10ml. Mix thoroughly. Filter sterilize. Preparation of Medium: Weigh 46g of powdered medium and bring volume to 990ml. Mix thoroughly. Gently heat and bring to boiling. Autoclave for 15 mins. at 121°C and 15 psi pressure. Cool to 45-50°C. Aseptically add 10ml sterile cycloheximide solution. Mix thoroughly. Pour into sterile Petri dishes or distribute into sterile tubes.Storage and Stability:Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept refrigerated and used within a short period of time.
