Melatonin (N-Acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine)
Description:
Melatonin is a serotonin derivative produced by the pineal gland that is thought to be involved with the regulation of circadian rhythm. Melatonin occurs naturally in animals, plants, and protozoa, known chemically as N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine, structure is preserved across species and the rabbit anti melatonin antibody is expected to recognize melatonin from all species in which it occurs.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Immunoprecipitation, and Immunofluorescense. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
