Description: M. pneumoniae is a bacterium which is distinguished phenotypically from other bacteria by lacking a peptidoglycan cell wall. M. pneumoniae is exclusively a human pathogen, and primarily attaches to mucosa in the upper and lower respiratory tract. It is transmitted by respiratory droplets, and infection can cause bronchial asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia. Central nervous system (CNS) manifestations are the most frequent extrapulmonary complications, and include encephalitis, aseptic meningitis, cerebellar ataxia, and myelitis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
