Technical Data
Myelin Basic Protein (MBP, GDB, Golli MBP, Hemopoietic MBP, HMBPR, HUGO, MGC99675, Myelin Deficient, MLD, Myelin A1 Protein, Myelin Membrane Encephalitogenic Protein, Shiverer, SHI, SP)
Human myelin basic protein is a 20kD protein (186 amino acids) found in myelin of the CNS and PNS. Expressed as an intracellular protein by oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells, MBP aids in the compaction and stability of myelin.

Positive Control: Mouse brain (see photo)

Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
PabIgYAffinity Purified
250ul-20CBlue IceMouseChicken
Chickens were immunized with synthetic peptide / keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) conjugate. The sequence of the synthetic peptide was shared between the human (NP_002376, NCBI) and mouse (NP_034907, NCBI) sequences. After repeated injections into the hen
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
As reported
Species Crossreactivity: Reacts with mouse MBP. Other species have not been tested. Homology with human is 100%.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
