Description:
Myelin basic protein accounts for approximately 30% of proteins in myelin from the central nervous system. It is best known for its capacity to induce experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), a T-lymphocyte mediated disease due to delayed-type hypersensitivity. Although each species of animals appears to respond to a different fragment of the 170aa polypeptide. Myelin basic protein is expressed in oligodendrocytes, myelin of white matter in the brain, spinal cord and in peripheral nerves.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:300 for 10min at RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
