NCKX5 (Sodium/Potassium/Calcium Exchanger 5, Na(+)/K(+)/Ca(2+)-exchange Protein 5, JSX, Solute Carrier Family 24 Member 5, SLC24A5)
Description:
Cation exchanger involved in pigmentation, possibly by participating in ion transport in melanosomes. Probably transports 1 Ca2+ and 1 K+ in exchange for 4 Na+.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:2000
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in mouse eye and rat skin lysates on ~40kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
