Nestin (ESTM46, FLJ21841, Intermediate Filament Protein, Nbla00170, Nes)
Description:
Nestin is a marker of multipotent neuroectodermal cells and is downregulated as the cells cease division and differentiate to their neural or glial lineages. Expression of Nestin is seen in almost all GBMs (Glioblastoma mulitformes) and many melanomas (both primary and metastatic) but not in any metastatic carcinomas.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml
ELISA: 1:20,000-1:80,000
Western Blot: 1:500-1:3,000
Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
