NT-3 (Neurotrophin 3, HDNF, NGF-2, Nerve growth factor-2)
Description:
NT-3 is a neurotrophic factor structurally related to NGF, BDNF and NT-4. These proteins belong to the cysteine-knot family of growth factors that assume stable dimeric structures. NT-3 is expressed by neurons of the central nervous systems and can signal through the trk receptors. NT-3 promotes the growth and survival of nerve and glial cells. The amino acid sequences of human, murine and rat NT-3 are identical. Recombinant human NT-3 is a noncovalently linked homodimer, of two 13.6kD polypeptide monomers (238 total amino acid residues).

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
