Description: Pericentrin 1 is a 75kD component of the filamentous matrix of the centrosome, expressed in all tissues. When associated with centrosome and Golgi localised protein kinase N-associated protein (CG-NAP), pericentrin 1 anchors the gamma-tubulin ring complex, providing a site for microtubule nucleation and the initial establishment of organized microtubule arrays. It binds calmodulin and is a constituent of nuclear pore proteins (nup) 107-160, a sub-complex of the nuclear pore complex. Pericentrin 1 is thought to play a role in the functioning of the centrosomes, cytoskeleton, and cell-cycle progression. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
