Peroxiredoxin 3 (Antioxidant Protein 1, PRDX3, Thioredoxin Dependent Peroxide Reductase)
Peroxiredoxin 3 (Antioxidant Protein 1, PRDX3, Thioredoxin Dependent Peroxide Reductase) is a protein with antioxidant function and is localized in the mitochondrion. The gene encoding this protein shows significant nucleotide sequence similarity to the gene coding for the C22 subunit of Salmonella typhimurium alkylhydroperoxide reductase. Expression of this gene product in E. coli deficient in the C22-subunit gene rescued resistance of the bacteria to alkylhydroperoxide. The human and mouse genes are highly conserved, and they map to the regions syntenic between mouse and human chromosomes. Sequence comparisons with recently cloned mammalian homologues suggest that these genes consist of a family that is responsible for regulation of cellular proliferation, differentiation, and antioxidant functions.

Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry(3). Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000 detects Peroxiredoxin 3 in RIPA lysates from Du145 cells. Du145 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with P3352-15 (1:10,000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.
Immunocytochemistry:Reported to detect Peroxiredoxin 3 in TSU-Pr1 cells.
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:500

Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
