Plasmodium falciparum/vivax (Malaria)
Description:
Malaria is a protozoan disease caused in humans by four species of the PLASMODIUM genus: PLASMODIUM FALCIPARUM, PLASMODIUM VIVAX, PLASMODIUM OVALE, and PLASMODIUM MALARIAE, and transmitted by the bite of an infected female mosquito of the genus ANOPHELES. Malaria is endemic in parts of Asia, Africa, Central and South America, Oceania, and certain Caribbean islands. It is characterized by extreme exhaustion associated with paroxysms of high FEVER; SWEATING; shaking CHILLS; and ANEMIA. Malaria in ANIMALS is caused by other species of plasmodia.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
