Recombinant human platelet derived growth factor AA is a homodimeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2x125aa and having a total molecular weight of 28.5kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Ser-Ile-Glu-Glu-Ala. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.

Biological Activity:
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine BALB/c 3T3 indicator cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is <1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1MIU/mg.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
