Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a potent mitogen for a wide range of cell types including fibroblasts, smooth muscle and connective tissue. PDGF, which is composed of a dimer of two chains termed the A chain and B chain, can be present as AA or BB homodimers or as an AB heterodimer. Human PDGF-BB is a 24.3kD B chain homodimer protein containing 109 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BALB/c 3T3 cells is 1-3ng/ml. Responding Cells (partial list): Fibroblasts, connective tissue Concentration Range for most in vitro applications: 0.2-10ng/ml Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, carrier protein. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 24.3kD |
Source: Human, recombinant protein expressed in E. coli Purity: 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug. Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM Acetic acid. No preservatives added. Reconstitute with ddH2Oand protein carrier to 0.1-1mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
