This recombinant human PDGF-BB expressed in yeast is composed of two identical polypeptide chains attached by disulfide bonds. The polypeptide chains have been partially cleaved between Arg-32 and Thr-33 (see US Patent #s 6083910 and 5895755). This cleavage is visible upon reduction of the polypeptide with a reducing agent. This clipping does not affect biological activity.


Biological Activity:
The material is fully active as determined by its mitogenic activity measured by stimulation of 3H-thymidine incorporation into human foreskin fibroblast cells.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Product may be reconstituted in water or buffer near neutral pH. Stable for 2-3 months in solution when stored at 20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
