Protein S (PROS1, PROS, Vitamin K Dependent Protein S)
Description:
Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein. In its free form it functions as a cofactor to activated protein C in the degradation of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa. Protein S binds to phosphatidylserine-positive apoptotic cells and may facilitate in the clearance of early apoptotic cells.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
