Description:
RANKL is a recently identified member of tumor necrosis factor family. TRANCE (TNF-related activation-induced cytokine receptor) or RANKL {receptor activator of NF-kB (RANK) ligand} has been implicated in interactions between T cells and dendritic cells. RANK ligand binds to RANK on dendritic cells, upregulates the expression of anti-apoptotic protein BcL-XL suggesting a role in dendritic cell survival. RANKL is also important in T- and B-cell maturation. As OPGL/ODF (Osteoprotegerin Ligand/Osteoclast differentiation factor), the same protein can both activate mature osteoclasts and mediate osteoclastogenesis. OPGL/TRANCE deficient mice show severe osteoporesis and complete absence of osteoclasts as a result of lack of osteogenesis.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Flow Cytometry (Cell Surface): 2-5ug/1x10e6 cells
Immunohistochemistry: Frozen
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
Activated T cells or RAW cells

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months at 4C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
