Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) (Biotin)
Description:
RSV is so named from the formation of syncytia, or multinucleated masses of fused cells. Two virally specified surface glycoproteins are prominent in RSV. The large glycoprotein is designated G and the other fusion protein is designated F. In addition, two distinct groups may be present in RSV, Group A and/or Group B.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Neutralization, Fusion inhibition and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunofluorescence: 1:480
ELISA: ~1:10,000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Fusion Inhibition Titer: >1:256

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity:
Recognizes all Respiratory Syncytial Virus viral antigens. Also recognizes bovine isolates. Does not react with Parainfluenza 1-3, Influenza A & B or Adenovirus by IFA. Uninfected Cell Reactivity: Negative with HEp-2 and WI-38 cells.
