S100 Calcium Binding Protein A4 (S100A4)
Description:
S100 belongs to the family of calcium binding proteins such as calmodulin and troponin C. S100A is composed of an alpha and beta chain whereas S100B is composed of two beta chains. S100 protein is also expressed in the antigen presenting cells such as the Langerhans cells in skin and interdigitating reticulum cells in the paracortex of lymph nodes.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:200-1:400. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Positive Control:
Human melanoma

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
