S100A4 (Protein S100-A4, Calvasculin, Metastasin, Placental Calcium-binding Protein, Protein Mts1, S100 Calcium-binding Protein A4, CAPL, MTS1) |
|
|
Description: S100 belongs to the family of calcium binding proteins such as calmodulin and troponin C. S100A (MW11kD) is composed of a alpha and beta chain, whereas S100B is composed of two beta chains. Antibody to S100 stains Schwannomas, ependymomas, astrogliomas, almost all benign and malignant melanomas and their metastases. S100 protein is also expressed in the antigen presenting cells such as the Langerhans cells in skin and interdigitating reticulum cells in the paracortex of lymph nodes. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:100 for 10min at RT Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20min Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Tonsil, melanoma Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
