A USP medium for use in performing total combined yeast and mold counts (microbial limit tests). Growth*: Aspergillus niger ATCC 16404 Candida albicans ATCC 10231 Saccharomyes cerevisiae ATCC 9763 Trichophyton mentagrophytes ATCC 9533 * The following results were obtained from type cultures after incubation at a temperature of 25°C and observed after 3-5 days. Storage and Stability: Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept refrigerated and used within a short period of time. Directions: Mix 65.0 grams of the medium in one Liter of purified water until evenly dispersed. Heat with repeated stirring and boil for one minute to dissolve completely. Distribute and autoclave at 121.0°C for 15 minutes. Storage and Stability: Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept at 4°C and used within a short period of time.
