SAP155 is a subunit of the splicing factor SF3B required for 'A' complex assembly formed by the stable binding of U2 snRNP to the branchpoint sequence (BPS) in pre-mRNA. Sequence independent binding of the SF3A/SF3B complex upstream of the branch site is essential, it may anchor U2 snRNP to the pre-mRNA. It may also be involved in the assembly of the 'E' complex. SAP155 also belongs to the minor U12-dependent spliceosome, which is involved in the splicing of rare class of nuclear pre-mRNA intron.

Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunoprecipitation: 2-5ug/mg
Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

The epitope recognized by this antibody maps to a region between residue 100 and 150 of human splicing factor 3b, subunit 1, 155kD using the numbering given in entry NP_036565.2 (GeneID 23451).
