Scavenger Receptor (SREC-I expressed by Endothelial Cells, Scavenger Receptor class F, member 1, SCARF1)
Description:
Scavenger Receptor expressed by Endothelial Cells (SREC-I), also known as Scavenger Receptor class F, member 1 (SCARF1) is expressed on endothelial cells, macrophages and phagocytic cells. It contains 6 EGF-like repeats in its extracellular domain. Besides binding scavenger receptor ligands such as fucoidin and acetylated LDL, SREC-I is an endocytic receptor for calreticulin and gp96. It also trans-interacts with SREC-II through the extracellular EGF repeats.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Direct ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human SREC-I. The detection limit for rhSREC-I is approximately 1ng/well and 100ng/ml under non-reducing and reducing conditons, respectively.

Flow Cytometry: 0.25ug/ml. Use 10ul of the diluted antibody to stain 1x10e5 to 2.5 x 10e5 cells in a total reaction volume not exceeding 200ul. A fluorochrome-labeled secondary antibody such a goat anti-mouse IgG may be used for detection.

Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human SREC-1. Using a colorimetric detection system, the detection limit for rhSREC-1 is approximately 1ng/lane and 100ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions, respectively. Chemiluminescent detection will increase sensitivity by 5 to 50 fold.

Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
