Description: SMAD2 protein (also known as MADH2) is a transcriptional modulator activated by TGF beta. It is found at high levels in skeletal muscle, heart and placenta. SMAD2 exists in isoforms, a predominant long form and a short form missing the 30aa exon 3. The short form shows DNA binding and higher transcriptional activation activity. SMAD2 may act as a tumor suppressor in colorectal carcinoma. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot:1:500-1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry:1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
