Syndecan 2
Syndecans are cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans that act as co-receptors for growth factor binding, cell-matrix interactions, and cell-cell interactions to regulate cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. Syndecan-2 interacts with matrix proteins such as laminin and fibronectin, and its cytoplasmic V region controls matrix assembly at the cell surface. Syndecan-2 is essential for angiogenic sprouting during embryogenesis and controls the growth of normal human osteoblastic cells. Syndecan-2 protein functions as an integral membrane protein and participates in cell proliferation, cell migration and cell-matrix interactions via its receptor for extracellular matrix proteins. Altered syndecan-2 expression has been detected in several different tumor types.

Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA (Direct): 0.5-1ug/ml. Detection limit for rhSyndecan-2 is ~10ng/well.
Immunohistochemistry: 25ug/ml Detects Syndecan-2 in paraffin-embedded normal human skin tissue sections.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
