STXBP1 (Syntaxin-binding Protein 1, N-Sec1, Protein unc-18 Homolog 1, Unc18-1, Protein unc-18 Homolog A, Unc-18A, p67, UNC18A) |

Description: STXBP1 (Syntaxin-binding protein 1; also p67, Munc18-1, N-Sec1 and Unc18A) is a 67kD member of the SNARE-interacting Sec1/Unc18/STXBP family of proteins. It is expressed in a variety of cells, presumably in those that exhibit granule exocytosis, and likely participates in (synaptic) granule release. Ligands for STXBP1 include STX1A, 2 and 3, and it is possible that STXBP1 both suppresses STX activity, and serves as an anchor for STX-mediated vesicle fusion. Human STXBP1 is 594aa in length. It contains one SEC1 domain (aa41-575). Phosphorylation at Ser313 may stimulate granule release. There is one splice variant that shows a 28aa substitution for aa576-594. This is restricted to neural tissue. Over aa80-226, human and mouse STXBP1 are absolutely identical in amino acid sequence. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, 11c7entrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
