Tau (Microtubule-associated Protein Tau, Neurofibrillary Tangle Protein, Paired Helical Filament-tau, PHF-tau, MAPT, MAPTL, MTBT1) |
|
|
Description: Tau proteins are microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). Alternate splicing of tau mRNA and differential phosphorylation contributes to the heterogeneity of tau. This antibody reacts with the non-phosphorylated as well as the phosphorylated forms of tau and its epitope maps in the middle of tau. It intensely stains the human neurofibrillary tangles, neuropil threads, and neuritic plaques associated with Alzheimer's disease. It shows no cross reaction with other MAPs or tubulin. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: IMR5 cells, human T98G glioblastoma cells, Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
