TPO (Thrombopoietin, also known as Mpl-ligand, MGDF) stimulates the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes and promotes increased circulation levels of platelets in vivo. The murine TPO is a soluble 18.7kD protein containing 174 amino acid residues, which comprises the receptor binding domain of the Mpl-ligand protein. Source: Recombinant mouse Thrombopoietin expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human MO7e cells is < 1.0ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1x10e6 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 18.7kD |
Source: E. coli Purity: ~98% (SDS-PAGE and HPLC). Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug. Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 10mM Tris, pH 8.0. Reconstitute with sterile ddH20 to a concentration of 0.5-1mg/ml. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
