Human TRAIL (TNF-Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand), also called Apo2 Ligand (Apo2L), is a cytotoxic protein that activates rapid apoptosis in tumor cells, but not at normal cells. The recombinant human TRAIL/Apo2L is a single polypeptide chain containing 168 amino acids and have a molecular mass of 19.6kD. Source: Recombinant, human TRAIL/Apo2 Ligand expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: The activity is determined by its ability to induce apoptotic cell death in TRAIL-sensitive U343MG cells. The ED50 for the effect is 1-3ng/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 19.6 kD |
Source: E. coli Purity: ~98% (SDS-PAGE and HPLC). Endotoxin: 0.1ng/ug. Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 150mM sodium chloride, 50mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.4. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O to a concentration of 0.5-1mg/ml. Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
