Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGFb1, TGF-beta-1, TGFB1, TGFB)
Description:
TGF-beta1 is a multifunctional protein that controls proliferation, differentiation and other functions in a wide range of cell types and both positively and negatively regulates many other growth factors. TGF-beta1 also plays an important role in bone remodelling through stimulation of oesteoblastic bone formation causing chemotaxis, proliferation and differentiation in committed osteoblasts. TGFB1 is synthesized by many cells and have specific receptors for it, and it is highly expressed in bone. Defects in TGFB1 are the cause of Camurati-Engelmann disease (CED), also known as progressive diaphyseal dysplasia 1 (DPD1).

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:2000-1:10,000
Western Blot: 1:200-1:1000
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml. Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections. 0.01M sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Recommended Positive Control Tissue:
Human spleen

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
