Trefoil Factor 2 (Tff2, Sml1, Spasmolytic Polypeptide, SP) |
|
|
Description: Trefoil factor 2 (TFF2), also known as spasmolytic polypeptide (Sp) is a 20kD secreted trefoil factor family protein. It is a protease-resistant glycoprotein primarily produced by mucous-secreting cells of the stomach and duodenum and is upregulated in response to inflammation. TFF2 interacts with mucin and other TFF2-binding proteins to protect and repair mucosal epithelium. TFF2 is also expressed by macrophages and lymphocytes and may have a role in modulating immune system responses. The 106 residue mature human TFF2 contains two trefoil domains (aa36-72 and aa80-121) and one N-linked glycosylation site. Human TFF2 shares 71-87aa sequence identity with canine and mouse TFF2, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 15ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
