Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) is a potent lymphoid factor which exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells. Murine TNF-alpha is a 17.5kD protein containing 156 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: The ED50 was determined by the cytolysis of murine L929 cells in the presence of actinomycin D and is <0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1x10e7u/mg Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 5-10mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.5. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Molecular Weight: 17.5kD |
