Two types of soluble TNF receptors (sTNFR-I and sTNFR-II) have been identified, which act to neutralize the biological activities of TNF alpha and TNF beta. Levels of these soluble receptors appear to arise as a result of shedding of the extracellular domains of the membrane bound receptors. Elevated levels of soluble TNF receptors have been found in the amniotic fluid of pregnant women.

Recombinant corresponding to aa23-206 from mature human sTNFR-II, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli.

Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
