Human TWEAK is a new secreted ligand in the tumor necrosis factor family that weakly induces apoptosis. TWEAK, like many members of the TNF family, was able to induce interleukin-8 synthesis in a number of cell lines. Recombinant Human TWEAK is a 17.0kD protein, comprising the TNF-like extracellular domain of TWEAK.

Biological Activity:
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of IL-8 production by Human PBMC (peripheral blood mononuclear cells) is less than 10ng/ml. TWEAK weakly induces the death of HT29 cells when cultured in the presence of IFN-y. The ED50 for this effect if between 30-45ng/ml.

Reconstitution:
Reconstitute in 10mM sodium phosphate pH 7.5 to a concentration of 1mg/ml.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
