VEGF is a potent growth and angiogenic cytokine. It stimulates proliferation and survival of endothelial cells, and promote angiogenesis and vascular permeability.

Biological Activity:
Determined by its ability to induce proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells. The ED50 is typically 1-5ug/ml.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 1 month at 4 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
