Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGFC, Flt4-L, Flt4 ligand, Vascular endothelial growth factor-related protein, VEGF-C, VRP) |
|
|
Description: Vascular endothelial growth factor C is a VEGF. The human gene encoding it is VEGFC. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor/vascular endothelial growth factor (PDGF/VEGF) family, is active in angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis and endothelial cell growth and survival, and can also affect the permeability of blood vessels. This secreted protein undergoes a complex proteolytic maturation, generating multiple processed forms which bind and activate VEGFR-3 receptors. Only the fully processed form can bind and activate VEGFR-2 receptors. This protein is structurally and functionally similar to vascular endothelial growth factor D (VEGF-D). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Detect human VEGF-C. The detection limit for rhVEGF-C is ~2.5ng/well. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Detection limit for rhVEGF-C is ~5ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
