Rabbit Anti-Cholesterol Acyltransferase 1 (Sterol O-acyltransferase 1, Acyl-coenzyme A:cholesterol Acyltransferase 1, ACAT-1, SOAT1, ACACT, ACACT1, ACAT, ACAT1, SOAT, STAT) (MaxLight 550)
MaxLight™550 is a new Yellow-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™546, 555, DyLight™549 , Cy3™, TRITC and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (550nm); Emission (575nm); Extinction Coefficient 150,000.
Cholesterol acyltransferase 1 is mitochondrially localized enzyme that catalyzes the reversible formation of acetoacetyl-CoA from two molecules of acetyl-CoA and plays a significant role in ketone body metabolism. Defects in the gene encoding ACAT1 are associated with the alpha-methylacetoaceticaciduria disorder,an inborn error of isoleucine catabolism characterized by urinary excretion of 2-methyl-3-hydroxybutyric acid, 2-methylacetoacetic acid, tiglylglycine, and butanone. Recent studies suggests that ACAT1 may be a therapeutic target for treating certain forms of Alzeheimer's disease.
