ST8SIA4, PST, PST1, SIAT8D, CMP-N-acetylneuraminate-poly-alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase, Alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 8D, Polysialyltransferase-1, Sialyltransferase 8D, Sialytransferase St8Sia IV
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the polycondensation of alpha-2,8-linked sialic acid required for the synthesis of polysialic acid, a modulator of the adhesive properties of neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM1). The encoded protein, which is a member of glycosyltransferase family 29, is a type II membrane protein that may be present in the Golgi apparatus.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other potential application, though not tested is Direct Flow Cytometry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide mapping to a fragment of residues within amino acids 186-214 in the central region of human ST8SIA4.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with Allophycocyanin (APC).
Purity
Purified by Protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human ST8SIA4. Species crossreactivity: mouse.
Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
