Sheep Anti-SEZ6/BSRP-C (Seizure Protein 6, Brain-Specific Receptor-like Protein C)
SEZ6 (Seizure protein 6, also BSRP-C, Brain-specific receptor-like protein C) is a 150kD member of the BSRP family of proteins. It is expressed on neurons and exerts an antibranching effect relative to neurite extension. Mature mouse SEZ6 is a 974 amino acid (aa) type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It contains an extracellular domain (ECD) of at least 876 amino acids (aa18‑893). The ECD shows three CUB domains and five short consensus repeats (SCRs). There are two splice variants for SEZ6. One is soluble, and shows an 18aa substitution for aa588‑991, while a second shows a deletion of aa895‑907 plus a 9aa substitution for aa982‑991. Over aa19‑902, mouse SEZ6 is 91% aa identical to human SEZ6.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml in perfusion fixed frozen sections of mouse brain (hippocampus) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Gly19-Asn902 from mouse SEZ6/BSRP-C expressed in NS0 cells.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 500ul sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes mouse SEZ6/BSRP-C. <10% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse BSRP-A and BSRP-B
