Cytoskeletal linker protein. Acts as an integrator of intermediate filaments, actin and microtubule cytoskeleton networks. Required for anchoring either intermediate filaments to the actin cytoskeleton in neural and muscle cells or keratin-containing intermediate filaments to hemidesmosomes in epithelial cells. The proteins may self-aggregate to form filaments or a two-dimensional mesh. Isoform 3: plays a structural role in the assembly of hemidesmosomes of epithelial cells; anchors keratin-containing intermediate filaments to the inner plaque of hemidesmosomes. Required for the regulation of keratinocyte polarity and motility; mediates integrin ITGB4 regulation of RAC1 activity. Isoform 6: required for bundling actin filaments around the nucleus. Isoform 7: regulates the organization and stability of the microtubule network of sensory neurons to allow axonal transport.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence: 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Partial recombinant corresponding to aa401-500 from human DST (NP_899236) with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26kD.
