Mouse Anti-HTN3 (Histatin-3, Basic Histidine-rich Protein, Hst, Histidine-rich Protein 3, PB, HIS2) (HRP)

Histatins are salivary proteins that are considered to be major precursors of the protective proteinaceous structure on tooth surfaces (enamel pellicle). In addition, histatins exhibit antibacterial and antifungal activities. His3-(20-43)-peptide (histatin-5) is especially effective against C.albicans and C.neoformans, and inhibits Lys-gingipain and Arg-gingipain (rgpB) from P.gingivalis. In addition, His3-(20-43)-peptide is a potent inhibitor of metalloproteinases MMP2 and MMP9.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Sandwich ELISA: The detection limit is ~3ng/ml as a capture antibody Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Amino Acid Sequence
MKFFVFALILALMLSMTGADSHAKRHHGYKRKFHEKHHSHRGYRSNYLYDN
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Full length recombinant corresponding to aa1-51 from human HTN3 (AAH09791) with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26kD.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human HTN3.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
