Mouse Anti-PEO1 (C10orf2, CT (PEO1, Twinkle Protein, Mitochondrial, Progressive External Ophthalmoplegia 1 Protein, T7 gp4-like Protein with Intramitochondrial Nucleoid Localization, T7-like Mitochondrial DNA Helicase) (FITC)
This gene encodes a hexameric DNA helicase which unwinds short stretches of double-stranded DNA in the 5' to 3' direction and, along with mitochondrial single-stranded DNA binding protein and mtDNA polymerase gamma, is thought to play a key role in mtDNA replication. The protein localizes to the mitochondrial matrix and mitochondrial nucleoids. Mutations in this gene cause infantile onset spinocerebellar ataxia (IOSCA) and progressive external ophthalmoplegia (PEO) and are also associated with several mitochondrial depletion syndromes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Partial recombinant corresponding to aa591-685 from human PEO1 (NP_068602) with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26kD.
