Rat Anti-Kappa Light Chain (HCAK1, Ig kappa Chain C Region, IGKC, Immunoglobulin kappa Constant Region, Immunoglobulin kappa Light Chain, Kappa 1 Immunoglobulin Light Chain, Km, MGC111575, MGC62011, MGC72072, MGC88770, MGC88771, MGC88809) (PE)
There are two types of light chain in mammals, the kappa chain; encoded by the immunoglobulin kappa locus on chromosome 2, and the lambda chain; encoded by the immunoglobulin lambda locus on chromosome 22. Antibodies are produced by B lymphocytes, each expressing only one class of light chain. Once set, light chain class remains fixed for the life of the B lymphocyte.
