Mouse Anti-Cytokeratin, HMW (High Molecular Weight Keratin) (PE)
This monoclonal antibody recognizes basic (Type II or HMW) cytokeratins, which include 67kD (CK1); 64kD (CK3); 59kD (CK4); 58kD (CK5); 56kD (CK6); 52kD (CK8). Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI <5.7) and basic (pI >6.0) subfamilies. The acidic keratins have molecular weights (MW) of 56.5, 55, 51, 50, 50', 48, 46, 45, and 40kD. Monoclonal antibody AE3 recognizes the 65-67, 64, 59, 58, 56, and 52kD keratins of basic subfamily. Many studies have shown the usefulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis. AE1/AE3 is a broad spectrum anti pan-keratin antibody cocktail, which differentiates epithelial tumors from non-epithelial tumors e.g. squamous vs. adenocarcinoma of the lung, liver carcinoma, breast cancer, and esophageal cancer.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
