Rabbit Anti-Il6 (Interleukin-6, IL-6, B Cell Hybridoma Growth Factor, Interleukin HP-1, Il-6) (Biotin)
Cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It is a potent inducer of the acute phase response. Plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells Involved in lymphocyte and monocyte differentiation. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth and induces nerve cells differentiation Acts on B-cells, T-cells, hepatocytes, hematopoietic progenitor cells and cells of the CNS. Also acts as a myokine. It is discharged into the bloodstream after muscle contraction and acts to increase the breakdown of fats and to improve insulin resistance.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 0.25-1ug/ml, in conjunction with I8428-30A as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Murine IL-6. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Murine IL-6 is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse IL-6, expressed in E. coli.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS. No preservative added. Labeled with Biotin. Reconstitute with 500ul sterile PBS, 0.1% BSA.
